Chief Cliff Snider
"the Chinook Indians have lived here for ten thousand years or better. Our range now is all the way from the Wishrams all the way to the mouth of the Columbia River, which is possibly two hundred miles. There were all kinds of what we, you might call bands of Indians. The group of Indians, Chinooks, that were living here were kind of like mid-Columbia Chinooks. The Sotos the Skiloots, and as you go further east you find the Wasuclees, you'd find the Wascos and the Wishrams. And then we went all, from here down to the mouth of the Columbia you would find the Wakiacums and the Clatsops." (Chief Cliff Snider interview 2002)
