journey along the Columbia River features images of beauty and contrast as you move from the Plateau, through the mountainous region, and out to the coast. Landmarks punctuate the river corridor, and have provided travelers with guideposts throughout history.
In this online activity you will have the opportunity to "put a face to the name" of several landmarks along the great river, and place them in their actual locations. Each landmark location is represented by an historic image as well as a contemporary photograph, offering some comparisons.
You will also have a chance to identify and place eight rivers which flow into the Columbia.
